Summer Craft Exchange-2012

Yippee!  I can, finally, tell you about my latest craftiness!  My little package has made it's way to Sleepy Eye, Minnesota!  But wait...I am getting ahead of myself.  :)

This was my second time participating in the Craft Exchange.  (Here is my post from last November.)  I was excited to join the fun, again!  I was paired up with Mrs. Alyssa (http://www.hems2dolls.blogspot.com/) all the way from Minnesota!  I had a hard time deciding what to make...so I just glued a little, beaded a little, and sewed a little.  :)  My package included: rosette hair pins, bead-balls, and a tangerine-scented rice pack with a baggie to match.

This smells so good!!!

Acts 20:35b is very true when it says, "...and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive."

I am so glad you liked your gift, Mrs. Alyssa!  It was a pleasure making it for you!

Many blessings,

I love the rosette hair pins. Would you mind sharing how you made those?

Alyssa,

I love, love, love the rosette hair pins. Would you mind briefly describing how you made them?

Hi! I am glad you like the hair pins... I used this tutorial:

http://alphamom.com/family-fun/crafts/diy-flower-hair-clips-for-may/

(I found it by Googling some fabric flower tutorials...I knew what I wanted to make, I just wasn't sure how to make them! Therefore, I don't know what the site is all about...I just used the tutorial.) :)

The only variations I had, was that I used bobby pins, instead of clips and I made several pins, using different sized circles.

Hope this helps! Enjoy making them!

Blessings!

Oh! Forgot to mention...

The small hair pins are "rolled flowers"...you can find some great tutorials online!

Those are all great gifts! I love flower pins! Cn you tell me how you did the rice bag? I've wanted to make some but haven't been sure all the details...especially the scents! I'd love know how you did yours!
Thanks,
Sara

Hi!

I used this tutorial:

http://www.thegreenwife.com/2010/04/02/heating-pad-tutorial/

It turned out so well! Instead of using the suggested essential oils, I used a tangerine e. oil. I love fruity smells and didn't want it to be too "heavy" or strong. I, also, used cotton, instead of flannel. (I thought it would hold up better.)

Hope this helps... :) Thanks for stopping by!

Many blessings!
